Ken Blakers grew up in Manjimup, Western Australia and throughout his professional life has applied his energies and accumulation of knowledge towards making a difference in agriculture.

In the seventies Ken pioneered the production of vegetables in the South-West for export of fresh food and processing markets and with his cousins expan

  

Ken Blakers grew up in Manjimup, Western Australia and throughout his professional life has applied his energies and accumulation of knowledge towards making a difference in agriculture.

In the seventies Ken pioneered the production of vegetables in the South-West for export of fresh food and processing markets and with his cousins expanded the business to include seed breeding and marketing, highly mechanized vegetable production, viticulture and agricultural consulting. In 1983 the business was consolidated into Regal Grange https://www.regalgrange.com/ which today is focused globally on the ownership, investment and development of innovative companies, primarily in the agricultural sector. The Group specializes in the provision of vegetable seed, seed applied technologies, water solutions and the exploitation of unique intellectual property.

Ken is the Executive Chairman of Regal Grange and a Director of several group companies. He is a partner and director of Blakers Thompson a startup disinfection company and past State Director of the Australian Christian Lobby (WA) with a vision to see Christian opinion count in the way that our society is governed, does business and conducts itself.

He has consulted to businesses, banks and government and awarded for his contribution to the Water and Rivers Warren Advisory Committee and State Water Reform Council.

Leon Johnson studied Industrial Psychology and Law at the University of South Africa, but decided on a career in business. He completed a M.B.A in 1999. In 2005 he completed a Diploma in Real Estate and Business Management in Western Australia. 

Leon has extensive experience in the development of Real Estate as well as larger projects

Leon has extensive experience in the development of Real Estate as well as larger projects on National and International scale, including the planning and upgrading of infrastructure, such as roads, harbors, airports and electrical infrastructures.

Leon got involved with the HTGR and its applications in the 90's, and has pursued the implimentation of this technology to the benefit of mankind ever since.

In business, Gavin has a particular interest in Ethical Investing and Clean Energy. As a perpetual student, Gavin is continually adding qualifications to his portfolio, that he believes will be beneficial to himself and his clients. 

He obtained his BCom in 1987 from the University of Natal, whom he also represented nationally in football. He furthermore holds designations in Financial Planning, Certified Financial Planning, Fellow Chartered Financial Practitioner and SMSF Specialist Adviser ™.

Gavin has previously held numerous roles having been both a director and Chairperson of a General Insurance Companies, Financial Director of a Financial services company as well as Financial Director of a Real Estate Franchisor. This makes him competent over a large component and variation of financial applications. Gavin also served on a number of community-based committees, where he remains passionate about mentoring, developing, coaching and skills transfer on a personal level.

Gavin is a published author and a keen musician, and his particular interests, are to improve financial literacy, retaining the art of guitar building and assisting mental mindfulness through community cycling groups.

Dr. David Ruzic

 David Neil Ruzic is the Abel Bliss Professor of Engineering and is in the Department of Nuclear, Plasma and Radiological Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he joined the faculty in 1984 after receiving his PhD in Physics from Princeton University and post-doctoral work at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. His research centers on the interaction of plasmas with materials. Applications include magnetic fusion energy as well as microelectronic processing. Professor Ruzic has a passion for teaching, particularly about energy sources where he gets to blow something up in almost every class.  That course is now available as a completely free MOOC (massively open on-line course) called “Energy Environment and Everyday Life” and he is on YouTube (Illinois Energy Prof) where his videos have been seen over 3.4 million times.  He is a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society, a Fellow of the American Vacuum Society, a Fellow of the American Physical Society, a Fellow of SPIE, and has served at Illinois as an Assistant Dean and as an Associate Vice President. He received the international “Gaede-Langmuir Award” from the AVS as well as the Fusion Technology Award from IEEE in 2020. He has published over 220 referred journal papers, 2 books, and 6 book chapters and has been awarded 10 patents. He has produced 35 PhD students and 59 thesis MS students who are now working in industry, national laboratories or academia. His current group consists of 1 Research Scientist, 1 Post-Doc, 11 graduate students and 25 undergraduate research assistants supported by over $1.5m of external research funding. 

Michael Shellenberger

In January, 2020, Shellenberger testified before the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change invited Michael in 2019 to serve as an independent Expert Reviewer of its next Assessment Report.Shellenberger has been a climate and environmental activist for over 30 years. He has helped save nuclear reactors around the world, from Illinois and New York to South Korea and Taiwan, thereby preventing an increase in air pollution equivalent to adding over 24 million cars to the road.Michael is a leading environmental journalist who has broken major stories on Amazon deforestation; rising climate resilience; growing eco-anxiety; the U.S. government’s role in the fracking revolution; and climate change and California’s fires.He writes on housing and homelessness, and has called for California to declare a state of emergency with regards to its addiction, mental health, and housing crises.
